Explore STEM at Laurier

Programs in science, technology, engineering and math – or STEM programs – have always been popular, but today, they’re more than just labs, formulas, and coding. Many STEM programs blend analytics, finance, business, leadership, design (and even history and English!), to help you build real-world skills and prepare you for future opportunities in a variety of fields and industries.

At Laurier you can choose from STEM programs that let you discover what you’re really passionate about while gaining hands-on and career-ready knowledge.

S is for Science

The Psychology program at Laurier Brantford is more than just a science program. Take lab-based courses in cognition, neuropsychology and behavioural science alongside class-based courses in Health Studies, Criminology and Leadership to gain broad knowledge and skills. You can also expand your scientific education by adding the Forensic Psychology specialization, which is unique to Laurier Brantford.

T is for Technology

Do you love business and technology? The Business Technology Management (BTM) program at Laurier Milton combines both. In this program, learn how to solve real-world business challenges using technology through career-ready courses like Business in a Networked Society, UX Strategy and Leadership. This program is offered by the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

E is for Engineering

The new Software Engineering program at Laurier Milton emphasizes systems that benefit people and the environment so you can create real-world impact (and change) through socially responsible innovation. The program is built to meet Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board standards and meets industry demand for talent in AI, climate science and bioinformatics. Courses blend physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, history and English to offer broader training than many traditional programs.

M is for Math

When it comes to math, you can choose a classic Mathematics program or add data-driven learning with Mathematics and Data Analytics, both offered at Laurier Waterloo. The Mathematics program offers a strong foundation in theory and application through diverse courses like Data Structures, Unifying Life Processes and Monte Carlo Methods. In the Mathematics and Data Analytics program, you can take similar courses while applying math, stats and computational tools to solve current, critical problems with a data-driven approach.
